Gedo is a blessing, thank you for sharing this. I would like to visit Bardheere one day it looks like a beautiful place and it’s name sounds magical too

The current mayor of Ceelwaaq is garre & the soldiers protecting the district are Ogaden, we are hoping to make Ogaden deputy mayor in the future in’sha’allah. We will also liberate Baardheere from the Ethiopian mercenaries and make Ogaden Mayor & Rahaweyne vice mayor. It’s time Gedo region is represented by its true natives!

Either you inherited a barren desert like climate from your ancestors or you've inherited this. Waking up to fresh hlib and qudaar while some of you can only grow phoenix dactylifera and other desert like fruits of which only grows in the sand dunes most of you call home.

or continue with their rebellion. The difficulty arose from the fact that submission involved a
heavy fine of cattle that had to be paid. A large party of the disaffected Aulihan led by Rer
Afgab and Rer Wafatu decided to break out of Serenli via Damassa. This they did in
November 1917 and headed in the direction the Juba River, camping in the area around Jabir
and Sereneli. Captain O Martin was ordered to obtain scouts, reliable guides, baggage camels
and local Marehan Levies in readiness for pursuit of the rebels

A further source of dispute was the proposed construction of the Bardheere dam,
which was intended to bring large areas of land under irrigation. At that time
Bardheere was divided between the Awlihan on the west bank and the Rahanweyne
on the east bank. (Gabiyo's sub-clan, Rer Ali/Awlihan, is from Bardheere.) The dam
was never built, because of the war. The project would have reduced the available
grazing lands and thus increased land values and competition between the Ogadenis
and Marehan. The regional Governor at that time, Abdillahi Wagat (a Marehan
recently appointed again as 'governor' in Kismayo by General Morgan), tried to medi-
ate between the Ogaden and Marehan, but with no success. The sacking of Gabiyo,
therefore, only accelerated a conflict over resources that was already spreading.
