Australia Will move it’s embassy to Jerusalem

A couple of weeks ago, our prime minister was deposed by his party and as a compromise, we ended up with a Christian evangelical prime minister. This guy believes in the biblical prophecies that Jerusalem is a Jewish/Israeli city. Many of his colleagues and the party’s supporters/voters would’ve objected to it, but there is a by-election coming next Saturday for the seat of the former prime minister. Poll after poll has indicated that they will lose this seat and if they do, we will have a hung parliament and then, parliament has to be dismissed and fresh elections be held asap, rather than wait till when it’s due, next year. If elections are held now, the ruling party will be wiped out from power. They are desperate to win this seat (Wentworth, a well off area in Sydney) and maintain their slim parliamentary majority and buy time to improve their polling next year. But first, they need to be creative and offer something unique to the significant numbers of Jewish/Australians living in that electorate. Ladies and gentlemen, our government announced last night that Australia legitimately recognises Jerusalem as the capital of Israel and accordingly, soon, our embassy will be moved there.

Stupidity or political master stroke?

We are the third only country to do so, but compared to Trump, we have smaller balls, will the Arab and Islamic countries cut diplomatic relations and commercial ties with us?

Farah’s in Melbourne need to chill, we’ve enough terrorists in jail already.

I don't think anyone would care about Australia and her decisions that is how irrelevant that country is.

I have deep respect for Australia. Even their Labor party is more right wing than other labour parties in the West. This decision would have been made even if Mr. Shorten was PM.

Canada will not be moving it's embassy to Jerusalem anytime soon, if ever. We have stupid priorities and we are led by stupid people. Count your blessings

This isn’t about Australia, it is about the status of Jerusalem. Only America and Guatemala moved their embassies to Jerusalem. Malaysia and Indonesia already made noises for domestic politics purposes and to appease their islamists.

Malaysia and Indonesia have ties with Saudi so there won't be a problem from their governments at least since the Saudis are in the pockets of the Zionists.

What is your position on the Israeli, palestine issue?

You are right that the Australian Labor Party revolutionised socialist parties by dismantling tariffs and de-regulating the financial and employment sectors. Tony Blair spent some time here to study them before he became the British prime minister. Also, Australia supports Israel more than Canada and the E.U because of our reliance on America’s might since world war 2. We believe that without America, we would be swallowed up by the “yellow people”. Therefore, our foreign policy has always been adjusted to that of the United States. If America asks us to jump, we ask them, ‘how high’? This subservient role has served us very well. Why bother them?

Having said that, there was a bipartisan agreement by all the major parties that the status of Jerusalem should be determined via an agreement between the Palestinians and the Israelis and Australia’s embassy should never be moved to Jerusalem without an agreement by the stakeholders. Let’s see how it pans out domestically.

Bob Hawk and Roger Douglas would be labelled "far right" and "Nazis" over here. They would be be banned by news media and in private businesses but they are regarded as heroes and socialists where you are at. Amazing really.

The Australians are smart people. I am sure there will be pomp and circumstance in the form of an unveiling when they move the embassy hopefully by early next year. Let's wait. Australians never disappoint.

Sxb, you will always look after your own interests and your loved ones and that’s what countries do whether they are Muslims, Buddhists or Christians. You will be morally compelled to support oppressed people, but no country will throw away the interests of their people for the support of others. Same goes for the Indonesians, Malaysians, Saudis and others.

I don’t support the oppression of the Palestinians, but things will only get worse for them. In my high school and university days, I was a card carrying member of Free Palestine, but not any more.

If the Palestinians want a country of their own, they’ve been offered 90% of Israel and Palestine combined in 1948, but they refused, why? Their Arab brothers, while wanting to steal their land promised them 100% of the land and to mass murder the Jews there. From 1948-1967 hostilities and wars raged to kick the Jews out of the Middle East but they lost more than the original offer and by 1950, the whole of the West Bank (including the whole of Jerusalem) was annexed by the Jordanians and the Palestinians were given Jordanian citizenships. Their identity as Palestinians was extinguished. Why? The whole of Gazza was controlled by the Egyptians, without a single Jewish settlement. If they wanted a country called Palestine, why can’t Jordan and Egypt cease their annexation and occupation and form a country for the Palestinians? Their Arab brothers said, no, we will exterminate all the Jews from the M.E and unite all Arabs. Their proxy masters changed from Asad, Abdinasir to Khadafi, Saddam, the Khomeinis and everyone else who wanted to advance their own interests by using and abusing them. For 70 years, they pursued a zero sub game where the winner takes all. Now, we’ve a clear winner and regardless if the horse (we) backed lost, Israel won and should own the prize. Fairdinkum. What’s next for the Palestinians? I think their best option is to merge with Israel and become Israelis. The Palestinian refugees should be redistributed to the world. The two-State solution is unworkable and buried dead. Our sympathies couldn’t help them, only Realpolitik could.
