Brisbane? You are lucky cuz i happen to live here. 27K AUD in Brisbane? You will be struggling to make ends meet ngl to you. You can tho if you are planning to rent out a single-room apartment which can usually cost 150-200 dollars AUD per week. Health insurance is xaraam and i dont deal with that so sorry cant help you with that. You can generally get a trolley full of 'groceries/general food shopping' for under $80-120 AUD and that will prolly sustain you for a week. How comfortable can one live on an annual budget of 27k AUD after tax in Brisbane, Queensland?

By and large, gr8 place to live and im enjoying it here.
It really depends where your apartment is located. Typically, closer to the CBD= higher rent costs. A fair estimate for a 3 bedroom apartment per week would be $250-$700 again depending on where you live but most rental houses are within that range. How much is a 3 bedroom apartment?
27k? Won't get u much
R u from australia?27k? Won't get u much
I actually love this niggas posts. Always makes me laugh. Government housing kulahaa. war caathi iska dhig. Im currently renting a unit sxb. Which suburb did you use to live in?Abdalla
I don't live in Brisbane but I stayed there for many months many moons ago, therefore, in major Australian cities, house prices and rent went over the roof. For A$27K, forget renting near the CBD on your own. It is A$500 a week budget. But you can manage it by sharing houses with others or with young Somalis like Garaad who lives in a government owned or subsidised home/apartment. The cost involves all the utilities such as gas, power, water, phone, internet and ETC. Gas and electricity bills are too high, so it is better to share the bill with others. You can get a basic health cover, but make sure you are covered for repatriation health cover, in-case you require a major surgery, they will fly you in special medical plane back to your resident country and within the health insurance, the dental will never cover all your visits to the dentist, expect to pay a big chunk of your dentist's bill. Less dentist visits might boost savings from your budget. Food, it depends what you eat but as Garaad mentioned above, a weekly budget of $120 seems Ok. If you smoke, quit it because cigarettes are very expensive here , a pack of 25 cigs roughly cost $25-$30 and if you are a social animal consider getting a part-time job.
Which suburb did you use to live in?
You probably google searched Brisbane suburbs. New Farm is 2km from the CBD, i doubt you would afford to rent there sxb. I would say you are either a woodridge or inala nigga topsNot New Farm, can you guess where?

Are you considering moving here?
Sxb, if you are bound to get paid a good wage then really consider it. Beautiful place! A neighbouring coastal city called Gold Coast is a major tourist destination and has the most exotic of beaches( best theme parks as well) and is literally 1hr drive from brisbane. Plenty of somalis here and plenty of sunshine.I have an option there to work on a project for 3/4 years. I have the option to live in their guesthouse but I don't want to live with and among coworkers.

How on earth did you get a working-visa for such a low paying job? These 457 Visas' are going to the gutter.
Im just surprised its Brisbane of all places. You can ask me any questions you may have of the city generally if you want anytime sxb.Sxb I Am not at that stage yet to arrange visas and other legal stuff. It was an offer that I an still thinking about. The institution that I can work for has guesthouses that are free of charge or very cheap, but I don't want to live near the coworkers and I want to separate my social life from my professional one. If I chose for that option I would be living comfortable with that budget since my stay would be covered and I only have to pay for groceries. It's a research based project which could boost my cv, but it's also a career switch in some way.
