Atlanta Somalis

I find this diaspora interesting. I believe they are very small. Does anyone here come from Atlanta or know anyone that does?

What’s it like to live in a majority black American city? Do Somalis there keep to themselves? Or do they mingle with other black people?

Every single person I know that went to Atlanta to visit family were all Isaaq and one Gadabursi. Must have been like 7 of them. I think Atlanta's Somali community is mostly Isaaq which is weird because there's few Isaaq in America. They probably all arrived there through word of mouth in the Somalilander community.

I’ve first cousins that were born and raised in ATL. I think a lot of the Somalis that had lived in Atlanta moved to other states like MN and Washington.

The community is very small and mostly live in dekalb county. The tribes there are mixed. Habeshas are more known and significant in Atlanta and throughout America compared to Somalis I noticed.
