That whole situation got me into some real hardship and stress in the long run, and overall they wanted him to get a passport for himself and his family. So no it wasn’t smart lol.

Arranged marriages has a near 80% divorce rate. I think, some Somali people make bad decisions in marriages and rush into it. These people don’t give importance to marriage, they don’t know the weight of the promise to spend all your life together. They don’t know what it takes, and honestly how could they? They’ve always been taught marriages are for very specific reasons. While marriages should be primarily about, you being happy and your significant other being happy while living together, having kids are all secondary reasons.

Arranged marriages (that were in the U.S) have the lowest rate of divorce at less than 4%.

Most indian/hindu people have arranged marriages, and from my personal experience I've never seen a single indian mother.

I want to say your still very young. I get told I’m old despite us being the same age, but alas that’s how society and culture is, although I don’t see it that way or listen to it.

That’s one of the best and smartest choices you can make, to be finically secure.
But one advice I give to men with this thought process ? If you do meet a woman fit for marriage ? She doesn’t have to know exactly how much you have saved…

Seen and heard too many stories of mandem who had all their good hard earned money saved up, only for the woman to make it her mehr or spend it all on the aroos.

If she does find out, let her know that’s the money you always had planned for when you get married so once y’all live toghther, there’s no finical struggle at the start.

I value my income and how much money I have made very seriously. I have seen countless men struggle greatly due to being destroyed financially from prenup type situations.

I'll be close to making 6 figures in the next year or so and I want to continue to earn enough so I can work towards retiring early or be financially well enough that I don't have to work a serious job ever again.

He got away with a lot of awful things cause they would always make excuses for him.

Ok that’s makes sense. It’s just that some women once they hear how much their future husband has saved in finances… they’ll take advantage of it. I’ve seen it happen with male relatives and even the opposite believe it or not with women.
Like these women who had a lot of money saved had the husband who was earning less took advantage of it.

Most folks can be living till 90-100 and I worked in two different old retirement centres and these people are all in their 70s to 90s.

Man some of them retired when me and you was born in 94. Now that’s old !
