AA culture is a product of White Southern (Anglo-Saxon) culture. A lot of Northern Blacks didn't have this culture until more Southern Blacks moved up North. You should watch this video when you get a chance.

you posted about the most [I hate my race] black american guy to discuss blacks?

If I were to align and be cool with only one non East African group of people it would be easily be African Americans, are there maybe not the most favorable aspects of ados culture, maybe but who are we as Somalis to judge, you guys are an overall great group of people regardless of some of the views some of us hold on here about you guys, excuse the ignorance here because a lot of the Somalis here are actually brothers from across the pond who haven’t met a single aa in there life and yet will actively and happily consume and regurgitate white supremacist talking points in order to bash west Africans and there descendants:russ::dead: funny enough
Yes it’s a product of beef with other groups in Africa, it spills over to AA

Nah he is Somali

Based on what though?

What are your thoughts on this? I'm AA and while there are good aspects to our culture I'm in agreement that our culture has toxic elements in it. For example, the murder of Nipsey Hussle just to name on example. As nother is, glorifying gangsters and drug dealing.

How do you feel about this as a Somali?

What is promoted in media and popular culture has nothing to do with AA culture. Many AAs are God-fearing and don't embrace in that culture. Drug dealing and gangsta culture came out of Jim Crow system. AAs can't be blamed on something that was imposed by a system that is designed to keep them down.

African-American Culture suffers from Post Traumatic Slave Syndrome (PTSS), a term coined by Joy DeGruy, to describe the multigenerational trauma and injustices experienced by African Americans.

They include:
  • Avoiding certain places, people, or activities and events that may remind the individual of the trauma or experience.
  • Difficulty concentrating, feeling jumpy or being easily angered.
  • Appearing emotionally numb, also called "vacant esteem" – this includes feelings of hopelessness, depression and a general self-destructive outlook.
An aspect specific to PTSS is racial socialization and internalized racism. The culture is objectively pretty toxic. Same applies to all New World Blacks
