Under the past 5 years, the F&F government (Fahad&Farmaajo) has neglected the fight against AS. The terror group is getting stronger and richer during Farmaajo's stay in Villa Somalia. They now collect revenue from Muqdisho port, this was unheard of in 2016.
Today the road between Baydhabo and Muqdisho is closed, the Jowhar and Muqdisho road is closed. Many MP's elected from Jowhar used to use the 90km road between the 2 cities before Farmaajo's presidency. The Beledweyne to Matabaan road is also under AS.
The F&F government have fought pro-government militias like Ahlu-Sunna that stood in the way of AS during many years in Matabaan, Guriceel and Dhuusamareeb districts, this has resulted in that AS is now outside of what ones were secure towns, planting land mines in the road between Beledweyne and Dhuusamareeb, and repeatedly attacking these three districts.

From this day on fighting continued between AS and the people of the small town. The locals resisted AS and fought as hard as they could, with no help from the F&F government. After many months with out help from gov the poor villagers gave up. AS now controls Bacadweyne and is launching attacks from there on the next door small town of Wisil.
Right now the road between Hobyo and Gaalkacyo is on the brink of getting closed, due to attacks from AS in the past few weeks. The only armed forces that is fighting them are local clan militias called the Galmudug darawiish forces, they get no help what so ever from the F&F goverment that was showing their fancy military on April the 12th.
