I do not like this on the fence approach by Deni. He should be consulting with Reer Puntland on where the country is headed and if they should prepare for referendum on independence, this will take years to get ready for, and time is of the essence.

The constitution of Puntland has a clause in it that allows declaration of independence if the Somalia's problems get protracted and stretched. 35 years is definitely a longtime to be waiting for a dead cause. I think post 2026 or 2027 elections we should consider a new course of action.
Declaration of Independence as in seccesion from the union? I thought it was to assert PL's autonomy from the federal government not full blown secessionism.
