Doesn't mean it was a good experience, don't let Soviet propaganda fool you, Eastern Europe is incredibly hostile to foreigners. They don't even like each other, people like you & me will stick out like a sore thumb. Which is ironic considering how many Eastern Europeans will migrate to the West.
