I know HSM is paying you a lot to shill for him but the truth is HSM nor Farmaajo had any control over whether it would be lifted it or not. Their western handlers decided, Somalia is an owned countries, majority of things HSM says or does are likely instructed from Nairobi and Washington. It was relaxed a few months ago so this was inevitable as long as we continue to reform the structure of the army (so these weapons don’t fall into Shabaab or clan militias hands) and make progress against Shabaab.
HSM continues to deliver diplomatic victories. There’s zero chance the IC would’ve lifted the arms embargo under Farmaajo
Paying lol. CBB are ludicrous. I’m just making comment on the many things Farmaajo f**cked up is one of these.I know HSM is paying you a lot to shill for him but the truth is HSM nor Farmaajo had any control over whether it would be lifted it or not. I'm not CBB walaalo. I am just looking at it objectively. That's why I didn't defend Farmaajo. Farmaajo was financed and somewhat controlled by the terrorist state of Qatar and US and tried to mess with PL politics, only good thing he did was send soldiers to Eritrea and make healthcare for women free. HSM on the other hand is controlled by the UAE and US. It's the same thing, this country is owned either way, this is why I previously said anything is better than whatever cycle we've had. We need to gain back our sovereignty and territorial integratory. I want every square inch of the country to be accounted for and I do not want a single non-Somali NGO or AMINSOM solider to step foot in Somalia. Place like Halane should be stormed and every foreigner there should be arrested and put on trial.Paying lol. CBB are ludicrous. HSM has good relations with the key partners we need to support progress on debt relief (under Farmaajo this was delayed to at least 2025), the arms embargo, sanctions on finance. Farmaajo like all authoritarian disasters in Africa after being sanctioned by the U.S. pivoted to China and Russia which would’ve been disastrous for us.
We truly wasted 5 years under that idio*, it’s good to point it out so we don’t make that mistake again.
Be realistic bro. Somalia is completely reliant on the U.S. and Farmaajo was not a US ally. The US even went as far to forcing Qatar to cut their funds to Farmaajo and sanctioned government officials. Forget other US allies that didn’t even need convincing.I'm not CBB walaalo. Also, western sanctions don't even matter anymore, the petrodollar and the Western World order is collapsing before our very eyes. As soon as Iran and Saudi Arabia join BRICS the multipolar world will provide countries another path of economic development. In the coming years you will see what I'm talking about. The Ukraine-Russian war has basically isolated the West. Markets are shifting East
Good, now go hire Wagner Group to train 50,000 SNA troops or send 25,000 of them to a country like Pakistan or Finland instead of sending them to multiple countries that have a vested interest in Somalia
I am being realistic bro, I know that Somalia is 80% reliant on the US, that's the problem. We have leverage we don't realize we have, the Federal Government of Somalia on paper controls every single inch of Somalia. That is huge leverage itself. What is stopping the Somali Gov for example offering airspace use to the US or Russia or China for MONEY + wheat seeds or infrastructure projects? Somalis need to use these things as leverage until we can get back on our feet.. The end goal should be self reliance nothing else. Once food security can be achieved you really don't need anything else.Be realistic bro. Somalia is completely reliant on the U.S. and Farmaajo was not a US ally. The US even went as far to forcing Qatar to cut their funds to Farmaajo and sanctioned government officials.
Hence we may as well pack our bags and go home because without US donor support there’s no FGS budget, there’s no aid relief so millions will die due to famine and there’s no progress on access to international finance, arms embargo and the U.S. will pivot to SL. That’s all things that happened under Farmaajo.
We’re very lucky we’ve had a 180 degree uturn on foreign policy. UAE can divide Somalia given its strong relations with SL, PL and JL. So any forward thinking President will know they have to neutralise this relationship. The US is critical for any world bank projects and IMF debt relief, as well as development loans in future, there’d be no progress on national IDs (funded and developed by the IMF). To get to where we need to be we need the US
I agree, I think instead of using Wager directly, we could have some Wagner Leaders come to Somalia and train our whole army or we can send SNA troops to Russia. This is much better and cheaper option and we won't have 5 different countries that have a vested interests in Somalia training our troops. In fact Qatar, the UAE, Kenya and Ethiopia are our enemies, imagine having your enemies training you? They want the exact opposite, they benefit from Somalia being a bunch of destabilized clan fiefdoms.WAGNER would actually help us defeat Alshabaab, but then American and Uk would be against that. We should build closer ties to Russia, we can then get some tanks and weapons that are cheap and easy to use unlike expensive high maintained western junk.
Not allied with them, we can just use them for our benefit. Cheap weapons and well trained soldiers can be easily obtained from them.Allied with Russia, are you guys crazy? How was somalia destroyed in the first place
Not allied with them, we can just use them for our benefit. Cheap weapons and well trained soldiers can be easily obtained from them.
To be fair, If we delve back into the past. we were never really "allied" with them, they never trusted us and didn't give us as many weapons as we used to request in the early 70s. This is why they weren't shocked when we kicked them out of the Berbera army base, they expected it. It's another reason why they sent the most military aid in their history to Ethiopia against us despite Ethiopia only being allies with them for 4 years.
There are no friends in geopolitics, we should use everybody we can to our benefit
You sound ludicrous. You can’t be entrusted with semi automatic rifles and you expect advanced weapons I’d be the first to oppose the lifting of the arms embargo. In order for that to happen you actually need dowladnimo. It was relaxed a few months ago so this was inevitable as long as we continue to reform the structure of the army (so these weapons don’t fall into Shabaab or clan militias hands) and make progress against Shabaab.

It’s too late for any opposition. It’s going to be lifted. There’s already arms coming into Somalia every other day. UAE has just brought in a bunch of drones to Aden Adde this week. You sound ludicrous. The only reason we lost was because the US went back on their word of supplying us weapons. Otherwise we would've won a war of attrition and then an armistice after Russia gave up on Ethiopia. If a republican like Nixon or Regan were president at the time it might've happened but the US had it's worse president Jimmy Carter at the helm. Very unfortune for us.Cheap and good quality doesn't go hand in hand Bro... And every one has an interest, you can't just use others without them getting any benefits from you in return.
Best scenario is to stay neutral, otherwise we might end up in a similar situation as before the civil war, were the USS betrayed Somalia and sided with Ethiopia those resulting in the collapse of the entire Somali Nation.
Sxb I appreciate the newly discovered patriotism of yours. But atmis aint going nowhere and you not having no arms embargo lifted , because your uncles in xamar benefits from the status quo like ngos and foreign nations do. It’s all a money game nothing complex to grasp here. Finally get your little head out the mud , I’ll even offer you an arm lolIt’s too late for any opposition. It’s going to be lifted. The reason for the lifting is two fold, Somalia is at war with Shabaab and winning. Second is the ATMIS withdrawal begins this summer and the international community either allow that to happen without a prepared SNA and the country has it’s Taliban moment or they allow the SNA access to buying heavy military equipment and Somalia increases its armed forces from the old 18,000 cap to enough to guarantee the countries security
$500 and we can shake on itSxb I appreciate the newly discovered patriotism of yours.
