You have already been exposed as a half Somali why are you here? Go to your Asian sideYeah everyday I wake up with tears of joy that I am Somali.
Think about it there are so many ethnicities you could’ve been born as English, Mexican, Korean, Swedish, Brazilian and more and you were born Somali. Isn’t that so incredibly lucky.

Every day I wake up proud to be Somali. For me, being Somali and Somalia as a country are not the same thing. Yes, the nation has faced challenges and struggles to function, but being Somali as an individual is something truly magical. The beauty of our people, our rich culture, our food, our strength, courage, and entrepreneurial spirit it all inspires me. When I travel, I meet so many people who admire Somalis for our ability to thrive anywhere, to support one another, and to build communities wherever we go.I want to know if you guys are truly proud of being Somali? What exactly is there to be proud of? Our failed country? History? Culture? Personally I don’t think I have ever been proud of being Somali but I do like myself it’s not that I have self hatred or something is just that I don’t think there’s anything to be proud about being a Somali. Let me know what you guys are proud about? We all fled our country anyway lol.
I am immensely proud of my Somali heritage, culture, people and my language. 30+ years of instability does not diminish 10,000+ years of history and glory. You do not know your history and people. What our people have accomplished through the millennia is astounding for our mere population. I feel sorry for people like you, you let outsiders determine who you are, you let them shape your past, present and identity. Our ancestors were warriors, conquerors. Their pride and determination led them to go toe to toe with European superpowers and defeated them (e.g. the Portuguese empire), Somali empire ruled the African plains and sea for millennia, traversing continents and mountains to trade with the outside world. Our ancestors had colonies of gold and rubles that would see them travel the global. They conquered Ethiopia, Kenya, Tanzania, Mozambique etc. The Roman Empire themselves could not conquer our lands and were left to walk away with their tails between their legs, calling us “savages” because we would not let outsiders rule us. I could go on and on, open a book and learn your people’s history, it’ll make you proud of who you are.I want to know if you guys are truly proud of being Somali?
