As the OP, I think I should impart my opinion.

Somalis are Somali ethnically.

But in terms of politics and culture, Somalia is aligned with Red Sea Arab nations.

Examples are Yemen, Oman, Sudan and Djibouti.

So in a way, I would not correct someone for calling Somalia an Arab nation but I would get angry at them calling us part of the Arab ethnicity.

I explained the reason for my name a while ago.

It is related to how the Italians named my hometown Galkacyo "Rocca Littoro" as a way to erase Somali history.

The funny thing is everyone remembers Galkacyo and no-one remembers the colonial name.
