just that we are poor.
I second this, poverty is the root of the problem. Although it’s pretty hypocritic of me to say since I subconsciously fall into those with a white saviour mentality. Nevertheless, I feel as though in Somalia the only barrier seems to be poverty and it’s a problem also limiting men. But at the same time I’ve heard of underage marriages in Somalia..?

Because many of the men are sexist & so are the laws. I've never been back home, but I've had so many stories told by cousins and friends. 1 of my female cousins, for example, was an A-grade student and is now a doctor, but when she told the men back home, many of them refused to believe it because according to them all women are "dumb". Wtf.

That's just one example. There's many more.

Tbh everyone is sexist the Cadaan that champion for equal rights were and still are Sexists.

I will call it bs since more than half of the students in medical unis are women. And that is coming from someone whose close relatives are doctors graduated from Somali unis and trained in Somalia. So no women becoming doctors is hardly a surprise in Somalia

Malala is very much hated, even by the progressive people from her country. She’s perceived as a western toy.
Pakistan?

The country that has taliban occupying it. The taliban that shot her in the head.

The country that has a lot of taliban members residing in the country.

They shot her in the head and didn’t kill her. Now she is a novel prize winner and has given educational access to a lot of women.

Her haters are not only limited to pakis back home, British Asians hate her as well. Even those that are educated at the same Oxbridge she goes to. Have a look at her twitter which is littered and riddled with those comments. They believe her dad sold her for fame, money and a citizenship. But this is coming from the ultra sexist society of Pakistan, don’t misunderstand me I adore her and read her book a million times she’s empowering and inspiring they just can’t comprehend that a young woman can be this confident and resilient.

Poverty brings out the evil in people, in a bid to survive mothers kill their own children , some sell themselves and throw away their dignity , other turn to trafficking I watched a sickening documentary on human trafficking, child trafficking and organ trafficking sick sick people , all in the name of I needed money and It pays well.

they all said they knew it was wrong but were willing to turn a blind eyes because they needed to 'survive'.

She has a powerful organisation why didnt she help her town?
She got headshotted in her hometown. She recently just went back to the place. Like a couple months ago.

Why tf would you go back to the same place that treated you like shit. The same place where the Taliban has actual influence on the people there.

A lot of the poorer communities get assistance from the taliban. So over time they start support the taliban.

.

define feminism? I did above^ , I was born and raised partially in the motherland lmao and I never once felt oppressed, I too never needed feminism. To be honest I can argue that human rights is what gave me the right to be respected as a human and the right to practice my religion freely , the right to basic education , and access to care , the right to exist o etc etc you get the point, I have the basics covered and don't need feminism to pave nothing for me.

Judge Judy said it best.

me no need it ya get me.

You were born when? you must be an older person whom experienced Siyad Barre's rule of socialism, and I give it to you---Somali women were more liberated in that era. When he left, Somalis turned to be hypocrite Muslims. I don't like dictators and he is one of them. But what happened post Siad Barre, he should be respected by people like you.

But, if not!!

Judge Judy has privileges more than you and is nearly to the summit, She was picked to reach that summit by old men and unlike you, she is pandering to be elevated by them. How does she help you?

let him troll us.

She rebelled and made it to the big leagues. I’m not surprised that pissed some people off. People from conservative nations don’t really like change as much.

Regardless she has had a very good positive outcome on many lives.

She doesn't help me lmao I just share the same views towards feminism. I was born in 98 and my experience in Somaliland was not oppressive at all. I can see how you looking in can deem it oppressive but my experience was not bad at all. To some women it might have been.

I go to uni and i'm studying a STEM subject every 5 seconds I'm told just because I'm a girl I can have access to certain resource where my male counter parts can't. Now I'm someone with a very big ambition I don't want to be told later on that I was spoon-fed and didn't work hard to get where i'am , in other words I don't want to ride on the back of this organisation that pities me because I'm a female studying a typically male subject , ugh its insulting to my intellgience to be honest and that what judge Judy is saying partially , I understand her because I went through that whole "your a woman , so here let me help you have it easier". Its bullshit.

Third wave feminism is a colloquial of feminism fighting for equal wages and more inclusion of women in running corporations and representatives of the people in parliament. Not that they will buy dildos and f*ck Somali men. A fear you held,

Feminism means women should dress the way they like, should we leave it to men how? No Hijab in London, Toronto and Melbourne? Idiots will never know what they have till the lose it.

yeah why not? its your world , your society do as you please , pass laws as you deem fit. Granted that its democratically adopted that is. OR not no one cares.

With that being said they can no longer parade around calling themselves liberals now can they , they lose that right. Since they aren't accepting of a whole religion and since they have suppressed a certain religious freedom. The west can no longer hide behind "we are liberal" , "open minded" , "we are nothing like those muslamic savages" , they lose bragging rights to their superior western values. Counterproductive to the greater plan the dark state has for the western world.

Not to mention they broke their own law of 'freedom of religion' and 'equality act' I can legit take them to court and sue them.

A person would be seen as consenting to mandatory actions when they call themselves Muslims. It's a contract between you and Allah, and with the contract comes contractual duties and obligations. But hey this doesn't apply to non Muslims just Muslims. If you call yourself a Muslim you gotta submit to Allah even if it sounds extreme.
