If some misguided South Sudani is claiming Macrobia, it's probably based on some feeling of attachment to Sudanese civilizations and kingdoms in general; we literally only left the North in the 13th and 15th Centuries and some of the murals clearly show Nilotes playing a role in ancient Sudanese kingdoms.

The ancient Kushites were not Nubians, but they were cousins of the Nubians and the Nara; and it seems that they were a Nilo-Saharan population with Eurasian admixture. The Kushites were also described as handsome by the Greeks and they lived near the coast, so it could be them.

Most normal people would rather keep their history (especially when good) to themselves rather than assign it to others. What makes Somalis so different in that they do the opposite? Is it some sort of mental illness?

You're right we originally came from sudan and there were still other cushites similar to us living in sudan such as blemmyes and medjaies but they weren't us were they? I'd rather not claim the history of other people and stick to my own history.
