I speak English, Somali, French, Arabic

In order of fluency.

My grandfather can speak Somali, Arabic, English, Italian and Russian fluently. Always found that rather impressive.

You'd be surprised, especially given how well travelled we are. I've come across Somali odhays who on top of Arabic Somali and English, spoke Amharic, Dutch etc.

I speak Somali, Dutch, English. If you're Qaxooti generation then you should be able to speak at least 3 languages.

My sheikh knows Somali, Arabic, English, Swahili and conversational French. I've seen him speak the latter four with fluency but I don't know how much French he still retains.
