Are Beta Israel just Habesha who continued to believe in Judaism ?

@The alchemist

What proof do you have of a long line of Jewish traditions in Ethiopia, these guys are the midgaans of Agaws
Buda (or bouda), in Ethiopian folk religion, is the power of the evil eye and the ability to change into a hyena. Buda is generally believed by the wider society to be a power held and wielded by those in a different social group, for example among the Beta Israel or metalworkers.[1][2]:20-21 The belief is also present in Sudan, Tanzania, and among the Berber people in Morocco.[3]

There is archaic Hebrew influence in Ge’ez, some old Jewish traditions that have been part of there Orthodox Church such as Men and Women sitting separately in Church, women veiling in Church, some of there dietary and fasting laws are Jewish too.
There was even an Axumite king named Israel. The claim of descent from King Solomon and Sheba also dates back to the Axumite era too.

Most Axumites followed a blend of South Arabian and the local Cushitic religion, buts it’s likely a small portion of them were Jewish which is why they have retained these old Judaic elements in there Church.

Beta Israel were actually much stronger at one point with their own fiefdom in the North. The axumite Christians weakened them.

By the time of the Futuh, the Muslim army found them holed up in the mountains and they agreed to direct them to the Habesha, swearing to take their own vengeance on them.

Why is there only one Jew in the whole of Eritrea if they were descendant from Axumite refugees?
Sami (family friend oddly enough) is Adeni. All the Jews who used to live in Eritrea were recent migrants from Yemen. Still a big Adeni community around Massawa but they’re obviously Muslim Arabs rather than Jews,

They are identical to Tigray and Amhara. And Some Ethiopians link the persecution of Beta Israel in Ethiopia to a disagreement rooted in religious beliefs between Jewish Ethiopian and their newly converted Christians.

What you think?
They're Agew's a highland Cushitic group that mixed some old testament beliefs with their form of paganism. They are about as yahuudi as your average raxanweyn. Total larpers

True. I doubt they got the yemeni from mixing with Xabesh since I've heard they're like untouchables in Amhara region similar to Madhiban.

Correct. They had their own kingdom that sometimes allied with Adal and sometimes with Abyssinia. Zera Yaqoub destroyed it however.

I think Yemeni jews converted amhara people to judaism and some mixed with them.
Explains the elevated E-m84 amongst amhara and beta israel .
