There was no unified oromo identity until the 70s sxb.
Oromo in the western half were orthodox and dressed like Amhara and felt more kinship towards them. Compared to an eastern oromo in hararghe and bale who was Muslim, dressed in somali clothes and felt more kinship to his muslim somali neighbours. These two oromo would see each other as enemies.

The people in hararghe and bale are "oromified somali" very simple if you take a Dna test but not only that, their culture is mostly Somali. Not to mention common religion. But they have a different identity in the modern horn and no longer align with us.

The horn for it's history was divided between Christianity vs Islam. It wasn't until the 70s that ethno nationalism took hold and the politics of the Horn was instead about ethnicity. This was solidified with Somalis after the 77 Ogaden war. And in ethiopia it became solidified in stages, after the overthrow of Halie Salassie, the Derg, the TPLF and eventually the ethnic federalism in Ethiopia.

The Somali language has many Arabic loan words, and a large portion of the language has borrowed Arabic words. There are a lot of deep-rooted similarities between the Somali and Arabic languages. The Arabs influenced Somali culture and language.

Of course, the leaders of Adal and Ifat spoke Arabic because the ruling elite and establishment primarily consisted of Arabs. Somalis played no role in the establishment of the Adal and Ifat kingdoms. The ruling elite of those two kingdoms primarily consisted of Semetic-speaking groups. Ethio-Semitic speakers and Arabs formed the dominant section of the population. Please stop attributing historical Arab empires to Somalis.

Arab support played an instrumental role in helping the Ifat and Adal sultantes defeat Abyssinia in numerous military encounters. Arab preachers, musketeers, and mercenaries from Hadhramount and Hejaz flocked to Harar in large numbers. They had their greatest influence in Harar, by then an established Islamic center of learning and the only urban diffusion point for Islam in Adal during the medieval period.

But after all that, Africa has not shown one little action towards supporting Somalia. The Arabs have been consistent in their support of the Somali state. When it was the whole socialist world, and even the US stood back, against Somalis. It was Egypt and Saudi Arabia who invited us into the Arab league in 1974.
