Things are really getting spicy now. Egypt is getting all of it's friends in the region. Signed a defense agreement with Kenya. Potentially has full support from the U.S.

Thoughts?

Egypt friends have invested billions in this dam and Ethiopia in general :mjlaugh:

their only chance to do something is now, once the second filling is done it’ll be too late to do anything since too much water will be in the reservoir

The useless Ayrab league should shut up :ftw9nwa:! We will fill the dam anyway. Keep barking Ayrab league :ftw9nwa:

Meanwhile, Sudan abandoned the position of Egypt which says "no second filling before a binding agreement" and wants to agree a partial interim deal with Ethiopia :ftw9nwa:
Yesterday, the Sudanese water minister was in Ethiopia.

It's the failure of Abey Ahmed in foreign policy of not maintaining the closer relationship with neighboring upstream countries and later with Sudan on the issue of selling cheap electricity which isolated Egypt in Africa that Meles zenwai made during his last years in power but thanks to the fall of TPLF and the internal conflict in Ethiopia that led to the civil war weakened Ethiopia position in the region losing its main friends like Rwanda Uganda and Kenya leaving Ethiopia only to have Somalia and Eritrea as its only partners in the region while Egypt made closer moves in east Africa particularly with Kenya signing defense pact.
