Anyone planning to relocate to Somalia or is everyone too comfortable in the western world?

Sometimes I wonder if the West is really home for us long-term. You can have the money and comfort, but it slowly eats away at your deen. Raising kids here feels risky — schools and culture push everything un-Islamic, and no matter how long you live here, you never truly belong. Somalia isn’t perfect, but at least there’s adhan, deen, and real community. Anyone else ever think about going back?

Africa just fits us better — the food’s natural, the sun, the slower life, the adhan in the air. You live closer to family, closer to deen, and people still have that sense of community we’ve lost out here. Anyone else ever think about going back?

You’re right, most probably won’t the comfort here is hard to let go of. But at the same time, with the way things are heading in the West socially, spiritually, even economically I feel like more people might start reconsidering sooner than we think. It only takes a few to move first before others start seeing it’s possible.

I understand what you mean some people back home can be harsh, and that can push others away. But remember, hijab isn’t about them, it’s between you and Allah. Sometimes being in a place that reminds you of Him more can help your heart grow closer and make obedience easier, not harder.

Back home but that is not something thats in our control, only Allah knows where we will end up dying. Im already mentally disconnected from the west, I dont see this place as my home. This is why I want to Somalia to stabilize politically and safety-wise. A stable and developing Somalia would be enough for more diaspora Somalis to return home.

Give it another decade when right wing populism becomes more pouplar and the economy in Europe starts to heavily decline. Then theyre gonna need a scapegoat to blame and considering how much somalis are in the public conscious of immigrant debates. Euro-somalis are definitely gonna be targeted.
