Anyone here hate studying but force themselves to

1. You do not know how much prior knowledge a person has about a particular topic nor how much effort they put into it.
2. Humans were not meant to sit for long hours without breaks. We're originally foraging creatures. And school work isn't meant to be enjoyable. I'm not surprised by your aversion. It's quite natural. Anyone who says otherwise is lying to you.
:browtf: Its a social institution that creates mostly regurgitators averse to opposing views that wish to fool themselves into believing they are tolerant of a diversity of perspectives. Its more of a means to an end so extract what you need for me and move on.
Do u purposely write in monologues as if ur the main character of your own movie narrating the contemporary circumstances that face our current society.
Also i slightly disagree with u, although we r not meant to be studying for hours ina chir, we are meant to be absorbing knowledge all the time,Thats why its so heavily emphasised in this deen to read books listen to doruus etc etc, imam nawawi didnt sleep on a bed for many years of his life, he slept on his desk due to the amount of effort he put into wiritng his works and seeking knowledge.
We need more of a balance with seeking knowledge and actual movement like our ancestors, but it is not compltely unnatural to study for long hours.
Also the education allows u to get money, thats the whole point. I just see certain ppl not hate it as much as me, like i literally want to throw up cos i hate studying so much its so boring

Breaks in between study sessions are necessary. They allow you to assimilate material. I doubt you'd sit still in a chair for 4 hours on end without so much as a washroom break. The acquisition of knowledge doesn't only take place in the lecture halls or in textbooks. That was my point (which you seemed to cover). And I say this as someone with a couple of degrees.

Movement is crucial and it makes your studying more efficient. Especially, cardiovascular exercise which improves focus and memory and aids in neurogenesis (the building of new neurons). Consider it. I don't think you can reflect on how other people feel about studying as they might not verbalize their discontent or detest of it to you. As you said its boring but a necessary evil. So I suppose you'll move passed the discomfort to achieve your objective.

U seem like a very classy person, in terms of u didnt come from an upper class background but from your own hard work biithnillah you were able to get good education, which is why you make calculated and thought through comments when responding to me, the only ppl who do that, is people who think calculated and think deeply about things in general and look over their own life with an objective lens, thats why u quickly respond to me with a paragraph with insight about society quickly. (Im overexaggarating a little bit)
But yh u seem very insightful
And i do the same thing which is why i can see it in u, even tho im still a teenager

Also our study system isnt totally bad, it needs a few big adjustments but in the west its definetly a better system than most of the world, and its not difficult to make a change for urself that will help u learn productively

Islamic stuff is the only thing I dont get easily bored with. But even then after a couple hours I get bored.
Secular stuff makes me wanna shoot myself in the head its acc so boring
I have no motivation to study i just force myself
alot of educated ppl find it easy to be motivated to study
doesnt look like they wana blow their brains out
I literally hated studying so much I would smack my head against the table in class and tell myself how much i hate studying for one whole yeear

I don't know. I have been fortunate to have been around intellectuals since I was a child. Not just your run of the mill ones but truly unconventional minds. :ohhh:Those unafraid to be wrong, recognize their foibles and allow for correction. It was because of these individuals that I am where I am today. Advanced degrees were sort of the norm at home, Alx. I don't consider that 'upper class' by any stretch but it was a privilege. I owe other people for what I am no matter what I accomplish. You're a smart kid. And since you're only a teenager. Insha'Allah you'll grow out of it. Just get comfortable with the discomfort that comes from the process of studying (material that you aren't fond of).

I feel the same way, I think it's normal. we're not meant to live this way of life where we're supposed to be nerds who sit at desks at day. that kind of lifestyle isn't supposed to be the norm for men (or for women either), it's unnatural so of course we naturally dislike it. I tolerate studying because I want to make money but I don't think there's anything wrong in being honest with one's self regarding how one feels towards it. I'd rather just accept the reality that I dislike it but do it anyways than try to pretend I like it or think it's natural. in this way I'm not as free as I'd like to be physically but I at least can be free mentally.

I'd like to urge for anyone- study Islam seriously for at least a short amount of time each day, that way even when you study secular subjects, you are still making progress in studying what is truly important.

I enjoy it, I like what i study, so reading about it is fun for me. I just don't do it regularly enough though. I procrastinate too much

Nothing like the feel good dopamine rush of finishing a 10 hour study session tho

I hate studying and working and all of that nerdy stuff its the most boring stuff in the world I feel like Im dying while I do it but I force myself to cos its best for me.
Anyone here vibe with me, I dont come across many people who hate studying as a much as me but got good grades/highly academic. Am I an anomaly?
what are you studying

Same issue, I might need adderall or just drop out.
What's worse is the exams or assignments, can't maintain attention to do it.

How do you recover dopamine levels though
Go on a dopamine detox. Don't do anything that gives you a lot of dopamine for a few days.
Have a week where you dont :
- eat tasty food
- use any social media
- no /zina (thats haram anyway)
- games/tv shows
ect..

You will notice you will find yourself becoming far more motivated to do work by the end of the week.
