Anyone else notice there hasn’t been a hit song in forever

Remember back in the day there’d always be at least a handful of songs at any given time that everyone and their mom would be bumping to? I’m talking the lines of single ladies, poker face, one dance etc. I’m sure y’all know what I’m talking about.

I noticed there hasn’t been an actual hit song in years like wtf. This era is so miserable…I was looking through the top few songs in the “billboard top 100” between 2020-2023 and i deadass barely knew any of them. Then scrolled to years from when I was a child to before I was even born, and I’d know more than half just by title alone…

Now I’m not even saying this cuz I need new music to listen to, I got my playlists made for me I’m good to go. Honestly this has been rent free in my mind cuz call me crazy but I feel like this is another sign of the fall of the west. If niggas aren’t talking bout music Wtf are they talking about?!?!

it was still very weak compared to the 2000s but I would say early 2010s (2010-2011) had decent songs coming out. I would say 2012 and over is when music died, although there were few bangers here and there.
