Any subtitles for Maxamed Rashaad

Lately my mom has been watching Maxamed Rashaad a lot and keeps on telling me how good of a sheikh he was. Unfortunately I'm a hooyo mataalo and can proabably understand 30-50% Somali max and that's only southern dialect, is there a place I can watch him with English subtitles?

If I'm not wrong the sheikh (AUN) is also a southie..I think he speaks understandable somali, give it a try. It is also a good way to learn somali.

I haven't come across subtitled videos of somali sheikhs on youtube but there are twitter pages that put subs on little clips of somali Sheikhs here and there (Mainly sh Xasaan). Search him up on Twitter and maybe one or two clips might come up. It is usually the funny bits.

Have you tried listening with your mom? I used to listen to Somali videos with my ayeeyo May Allah have mercy on her, who would help me comprehend the language and meaning.

The shiikh ilaahay ha u naxariisto accurately describes the times we are living in. I would recommend everyone here to watch it as it shows you clearly the propaganda that some users here are doing.

It seemed like he was blaming the gaal on all the misfortune Somalis faced, qabyalad, civil wars and terrorism. Somali men need to take accountable for their own action, not the cia or Ethiopia.

I wonder if the video was before or after his cousin was the leader of al shabab.

Have you watched both parts of the talk in full? The shiikh Ilaahay ha u naxariisto didn’t blame the gaalo for all the problems actually. He mentioned some of their tactics to create divisions (that make us weaker/weakened) amongst us. That includes having some of our people do their bidding for them and working against the entire advancement of our people. He was simply informing people so they would be aware of these matters.

I don’t have any knowledge on that second thing you mentioned. This video is from the late 90s.

Qabiil doesn’t matter too much to me in the grand scheme of things. Who his cousin is doesn't really affect my view of the shiikh.

Me too. Sh Mohamed was involved in his community. He contributed a lot for his people especially the muslim community in Canada and worldwide. He was educated and very intellectual mashaAllah. He was well regard in Somali and muslim communities. May Allah have mercy on his soul.

This his cousin. They’re not alike. But his cousin has blood on his hand.

He was living in Canada and went to Hajj. He passed away on a Friday at Hajj naturally in 2009 and is buried in Mecca.
