Any genetic studies to look forward to? (Africa)

i feel like there hasn't been much since the paper on east African pastoralists migrations and the one on the populations in cameroon.

Only thing im truly interested in right now is more on the pre niger congo populations of west africa, like the ones at shum laka. Im also curious as to where the niger congos originated and what their components are(pygmy like groups and some nilo saharan maybe?)
Not sure about east african nomads currently, the last thing i saw about african genetic studies was this
.

Nubian ancient atDNA.
Hunter-gatherers from Somalia ancient atDNA.
More samples from Ancient Egypt not from a potentially Hyksos site (Abusir).

Those three should come out in the next two years.

You tried very hard to push the narrative that the Hyksos site and Fayyum sites were a true representation or dynastic Egypt.

I did not try hard, it was and still is the scientific consensus that they were ethnically Ancient Egyptian, plus an Ancient Egyptian soldier burred in England confirmed that previous pattern and leaked rumors from those other archaeological sites that are being tested indicate a similar pattern. Don't get your hopes up on autosomally Horner-like Ancient Egyptians. You will be disappointed, better to accept they were autosomally most similar to present-day Copts, Middle Eastern Arabs, and Ancient Canaanites as this is to get you least disappointed.

Apollo could you explain why Middle Easterners have such pale skin despite living in a arid desert like climate is it due to having European admixture (SLC45A2), due to adaptive pressures shouldn't they have very dark skinned?

Arabians are relatively recent (in evolutionary terms) migrants from the Levant. They did not always live in Arabia. The paleolithic inhabitants of Arabia were likely dark skinned, but they are extinct. The Levant used to be colder and greener/more fertile right after the Ice Age/early Holocene. Lighter skin started to evolve there as they became farmers who had high grain diets lacking in Vitamin D. Subsequently, they most likely sexually selected for it and that is why they still have it in places like Saudi Arabia. Horners don't have it because of counteracting blue black Nilote skin genes which Arabians don't have (or at least much less of).

wouldnt steppe ancestry from IE migrations have an effect on the lighter skin of most non nomad MENA populations as well?

There will never be a true representation of what the Ancient Egyptians were unless the mummified bodies of early Dynastic Egyptians are tested. So far they only tested those who were anywhere in between the New Kingdom and the Ptolemic dynasty which was heavily Greek influenced.
Dynastic Egyptians are from Upper Egypt, near Sudan. So unless there are verifiable DNA tests from that region and from that early time period these sporadic DNA tests are not conclusive.

Even in the last study done the area was an ancient Greek settlement that the paper mentioned and also they mentioned how samples from Upper Egypt wasn't tested.
