French Canadians are spread out, they also have a strong culture in the Maritimes genius. They created the bilingual law, everything in Canada must be written in both French and English. They are not a linguistic minority when both languages are the official languages of Canada.

They were not the first supporters, but they supported it strongly because they wanted the opportunity to control their own region.

They also tend to use the term khaldaan to describe Af Waqooyi. When the Mad Mullah came into contact with them he acted as if they were strange and couldn’t understand them. They reference that event a lot.

D&M aren’t the only ones to speak Maay, everyone around them does. Some of my family members speak it. D&M speak both Maay and Maxaa Tiri, they will start speaking very fast in Maay if you speak it to them. They prefer it. They also say Bantu that live around rhemspeak their own version of it that isn’t pure Maay.

90% of maay speakers are bilingual in mahaa tiri or atleast can speak it in conversation through my experience
