More reasons to close the boarder and declare Puntland as an Independent state.

I hope it doesn't escalate to PL n GM backing Surre and Sheikhaal. This is a local issue not a govt responsibility which only deals with individual criminals. This is about land and clan matters and must be delegated to the Omar Mahmoud elders to play their role and responsibility.

Well the govt can only play a peace keeping mission irrespective if it's the feds or regional govts(PL n GM), the govt cannot choose sides in a clan conflict over land or resources.

The govt role is to deal with individual criminals against individuals not whole clans vs another clan, that's outside it's jurisdiction and all Somalis know this as it would make the govt be stakeholder in the conflict. These are traditional matters whether it's land or resources, these come under the traditional sphere not govt sphere.

Once a conflict escalates beyond individuals, it has left the govt jurisdiction. This is a failure on the traditional elders part at a Somali wide level not just PL or GM. It was quite well known even during the dark ages and the absence of the state, that rural or clan matters will be handled by elders(Somali wide) which allowed rural folks to live in peace and carry out their rural livelihoods, while the urban areas were in failure with no govt. All Somali elders would be invited to settle these dispute because their well versed in the culture and conflict resolution models.

Somalis already have a huge issue around political conflict(a huge task on its own), it doesn't need this clan conflict, terror, media poisoning, moryans and their financial motives or other foreign interference on top of it. Somalis are in existential crisis politically, it could have horrendous outcome for all Somali clans if left unresolved and could lead to Australian Aborigines type of outcome in the future thru inaction which is what happened to native Australians, they were idle, inactive, not united and in conflict, etc and today the land was lost and ceded to a few hundred prisoner from UK who were deported there as England prison were too full

Your not well versed in Somali culture are U, you just said they need to come to an agreement? I agree they do but then u pointed to the govt to do this who are politicians and isn't their jurisdiction. The agreement can come thru titled elders on both sides and with Somali elders invited nation wide to participate their wisdom on resolutions and agreements. We need more Dr Osman types in Somali politics who knows what's the govt role and what's the elder role in the state is. It can be written and codified or unwritten and just damn self evident.
