Somalis are a cursed people, and I mean that wholeheartedly. No room for anything but hatred in their hearts; no discussion worth having unless it's can be spun into agenda-driven hogwash. I used to think it was a loud minority, but I've come to both realise that the large majority of both Somali men and women are beyond saving. I try to reason with either "side", and I'm automatically othered. We're simply just a destructive people, and we'll reduce and divide among ourselves to destroy some more, eventually to the point of self-sabotage. May Allah help us.
Allah una naxaaristo to the sister, very saddening news. Somali husband or not, there's no escaping how shitty some Somali men treat their wives - from domestic abuse to pure neglect. Not to say we're the worst people in this regard, but acknowledging the fact that it occurs is the first step (and the right thing to do, for the sake of the victims). And the Somali women who all but derive joy from headlines like this as to fuel their anti-Somali-men agenda: you're no better. People pushing 30 still participating in gender wars is why I'm so pessimistic about our people; nowhere else and with no other people do you see such hatred of their own. Again, may Allah help us, though we don't deserve it.
