People have made multiple post about the good reputation and the high status Somalis enjoyed in the gulf pre 1991. Here's another video of a Saudi person filming the old houses in the old neighbourhoods of eastren province of Saudi Arabia and he mentions a Somali family that lived in his neighbourhood. He stated that he can never forget their aid and contribution to society and they were among. Note that back then (1940s-1970s) the vast majority of Saudis lived in traditional homes in rural areas or in the Baadiye. People who lived in places like the place filmed usually enjoyed access to electricity, clean water and education as opposed to new comers from rural areas to urban areas who tended to live in actual mud hats until they can make it. In other words this family was living better than 90% of Saudi families back then. Sadly again our reputation was tarnished.
