Angola is a lot more civilized then I thought

So basically I was watching this itchy boots latest video(Motorbike vlogger) where she is traveling the western part of Africa,

and in the video she enters the country of Angola
The part I want to bring up is when she goes to the capital Luanda at 13:10

I was absolutely suprised, I did not know the capital of Angola was this beautiful...
After this I did some more searching and here is a few pictures I found

(I WAS gonna upload another photo but apprently its too LARGE)

Basically the entire reason why I even brought this up is why is Somalia so terribly behind?? Seriously the best somalia has to offer is rag-tag developments using the cheapest of materials. I dont even think any sort of urban planning exists in somalia. I was amazed seeing how clean their main beach front road was, it reminded me of chicago lake shore drive combined with the weather of Miami.

I must congratulate Angola, Regardless of whatever their political situation is, they really have a nice city and not to mention the roads were properly paved with markings. I am a little jealous I won't lie, why is somalia so behind?? They also had a huge civil war and their communist aswell.

Angola is the Brazil of Bantu Africa in terms of social culture that is very self contained and different, as they speak Portuguese. Not in terms of size or influence.

Angola is an oil producing country. Somalia exports livestock. That is the reason.

They got the city form, urbanized planning on lock. It's impressive.
They got like 5 other social housing developments they’ve done from scratch. I reckon it’s not that costly to build these types of cities if you keep it repetitive and simple.

This is one of their social housing developments they’ve built called Caála

Just a basic design that can be repeated over and over again

This is straight up dystopian, this is not good city planning at all, however its better then what somalia has to offer with copy n paste jingad developments. But this isnt far away from it.

I'm blown away.

I figure all you need is to scale up the needed industrial capacity and then, as you said, do cost cost-effective yet least-complicated architectural style that can be mass-produced on a regional basis but still carry taste from an integrated environmental and city outlook sense.

I dislike developments like these severely I do not like them they are terrible and disgusting.
The exact way it looks is not the focus. It's the replication potential. Design, arrangements, architecture, set up, all this can be very different -- the execution carries precedent. It is quite impressive in that regard, compared to expectations. And the capital looked neat. We got to give credit.

Angola and Somalia have more similarities than you think..

1. We both had 30+ year civil war

2. We both have irredendist hopes. Angola have beef with Congo because Southern Congo are Angolans.

3. We are both oil rich

4. We both once had an alliance with the Soviet Union in the Cold War.

5. We are both warrior people. I believe Angola are the strongest and geesiest Bantu Africans.

It's an oil rich country in heavily debt to China. Everything was build for them down to the parks and social housing.

This is Muqdisho skyline build and owned by Somali, and we're still a nation recovering from total state failure. No other country has ever survived this long like we have. Give us peace and a bit of foreign investment and we'll surprass many of these countries IA.
