If Puntland officially joins the war against Somaliland it will change the entire narrative of this conflict. It will be seen as maamul vs maamul then you'll have the international community getting involved invoking harsh measures to force a ceasefire. Right now the conflict is painted as the Somaliland administration vs the people of Las Anod.

I also believe Dhulbahante would not be as united as they are today if Puntland intervened. Midnimada Dhulbahante has long been damaged by sub clans of Dhulbahante being either side of Puntland and Somaliland. Now they are united under one cause which is to establish an SSC administration.
