An Arab guy claims Somalis have been Muslim for 1200 years and didn't make a single contribution to Islam.

The real kicker is that the Abu Jahl Twitter handle is @TheLastArabian which is exactly the same as our friend’s old Twitter handle; @TheLastHarari which has recently gone dark (not suspicious at all) and which had the exact same posting patterns and view points as Mr. HabarSteven.

This would also explain the proximity between this Abu Jahl handle and Somali troll accounts, much the same way HabarSteven actively participates on our own forum. I have to give him credit for this elaborate troll machination, it shows dedication.

Let's tell @HabarSteven12 that we get that Somalis aren't saints, but it is wild to assume that some Somali trolls' existing means ipso facto. They are the only trolls online.

Let us pretend that other ethnic groups of men are not (1) toxic, (2) wouldn't mind using a group regularly antagonized for troll activity as cover to direct blame toward. My bad, Somalis aren't relevant enough for that. And other Ajnabi trolls don't know how to use Google Translate.

You think I wouldn't notice you sneaking "benadirs" in your sentence, benadirs barely spread islam in somalia. Isaaq and darood ancestor were already muslims, there is proof hawiye's being muslims a 1000 years ago and Dir had a muslim kingdom in the 900ad. I just showed you the 4 main clans in somalia being muslims 1000 years ago lol, benadirs didnt spread shit it's just pure hotepism
You didn't show anything, and you are only resorting to emotional, subjective reasoning to push your bizarre and laughable narrative. You have clearly demonstrated that you don't have any moral regard for intellectual honesty. You don't have the intellectual capacity to analyze or comprehend historical sources with a critical eye. Benadirs were instrumental and played a huge role in the spread of Islam among the nomads living in the interior.

Somalis don't have a long history or tradition with Islam. Islam did not seem to have gone deep into the cultural life of the Cushitic people. Most of the Muslim rulers in Adal, Ifat, Shawa, and Hadiya seem to have been Semitic speakers who were Muslim in their customs, names, titles, and religion. There is no such thing as a Dir Kingdom, lol.

The various kingdoms you falsely attribute to Somalis were in fact built by non-ethnic Somalis. You have reached a premature conclusion about who founded and built certain kingdoms and empires in modern-day Somalia. Most of the empires and kingdoms located within the geographical parameters of modern-day Somalia were, in fact, founded by non-ethnic Somalis.

The Adal, Ifat, and Mogadishu kingdoms were all founded and built by non-ethnic Somalis. Arab Faqih states that Ethio-Semitic speakers formed the dominant section of the Adal population. He also makes it clear that the sedentary agriculturalist population of Harar provided both the leadership in the jihadic war and that they were the majority of the fighters, at least during the early days of the jihad.

Since time immemorial, the coastal towns along the northern Somali shores have been politically subject to the Arabian states. "An Arab sultanate with its capital in Zeila was founded by emigrants from Yemen in the 7th century AD. By the 13th century, it had become powerful as the empire of Adal." Arabs inhabited Mogadishu before the birth of the prophet Isa's mother, Maryam. Read sharif aidarus book.

You are misconstruing my statements and failing to comprehend what I actually said. I literally provided proof that a Somali troll is behind the Abu Jahl account. I provided screenshots of the Somali troll constantly conversing about Somali-related topics, which shows a Somali person is behind the account. Of course, there are ajanabis that are toxic. What does that have to do with my point?

There is a rise of Somali social media trolls that are frequently cosplaying as different ethnic groups and causing havoc on Twitter. Me calling out these trolls is being interpreted as hating and bashing all Somali men. Somali trolls are pitting diverse Muslim communities against each other. They are causing a lot of problems on social media.

Your post history provides a sufficient amount of information. It indicates a single-minded focus on Somali trolls, exclaiming they are cosplaying as everyone and no one cosplays as them. Followed by the endless back-and-forths which go nowhere. We are not saying Somali trolls don't cosplay as other groups. However, you'd be in denial to think this is unilateral. I'm quite fair-minded, but you appear to have a negative bias against ethnic Somalis. Evidenced through regularly undermining any of their historic contributions.

This disgruntled behaviour is endemic among certain groups: (1) agent provocateur Somalis attempting to be edgy, (2) embittered Somalis, (3) ethnic minorities with Somali nationality, or (4) ajnabis with an axe to grind from negative interactions with Somali trolls online. I'm not sure which one it is. You could exclaim that you are attempting to make them accountable for their actions, but that would be futile. Also, SSpot is a smaller and disinterested audience, as few, if any, here identify with these trolls or care for them. Take your message to Twitter. I won't be discussing this any further.

Have a nice day. :)

1.Yaqubi a man that lived in the Abbasid caliphate in the 9th century said that muslim lived in the north of Somalia. Al idrisi mention hawiye living in merca and said it was a muslim city, ibn said said that it was their capital city.

2. Ifat was founded by somalis cuz the sultan umar al dunya said that he was descendant of yusuf al kawneyn who is a somali. In a 15th century book it was said that Yusuf al kawneyn is a somali

3. Arab faqih never said that

4. Immigrants from yemen did not found zeila, like how shameless could you get. That city was known to the greeks as Avalites but here your saying that Yemenis founded it, yemenis themselves dont say that dumbshit

5. You say that Mogadishu was inhabited arabs before nabi isa and then you say those same people convert the somali population to islam, your a whole and it's not even funny. You have also zero shame in cosplaying as my clan, you thought my clan was some shield so you can after other people, your a whole troll

1. Sxb, you further humiliated yourself. Al Yaqubi did state that Muslims lived in the north of modern-day Somalia. What you are failing to grasp and comprehend is that those Muslims were Arab immigrants from Yemen. It is well established that Arab immigrants from Yemen rebuilt and revived the city of Zeila. The only mention of Hawiye in Merca was in the 12th century. The Hawiye Nomads migrated and settled on the outskirts of Merca. Arabs inhabited and lived in Merca before the nomadic migration to the historic town. What does Merca mean in af Somali?

2. Ifat rulers were not Somalis. Umar ibn Dunya-huz was the first ruler of Ifat, and he originated from Arabia. Al-Maqrizi states that the ruling class of the Ifat Sultanate were Arabs from the Hejaz, while the population mostly consisted of Muslims. Semetic-speaking groups founded and built the Ifat Sultanate. The Walashama rulers mostly consisted of Arabs and other Semitic-speaking groups. Yusuf al-Kawneyn was an Arab, and he descended from Hasan ibn Ali.

3. Arab Faqih did state that Ethio-Semitic speakers formed the dominant section of the Adal population. He also makes it clear that the sedentary agriculturalist population of Harar provided both the leadership in the jihadic war and that they were the majority of the fighters, at least during the early days of the jihad. Read the Cambridge History of Africa.

4. Yemeni immigrants revived and rebuilt the city of Zeila. The word Zeila is of Arabic origin. Al-Zaylaa, or Zaila, is a type of bead worn by women. The kingdom of Himyar also controlled Zeila for a significant period of history. Zeila and Sawakin represented the Arab state, the state of Himyar, and the wars between it and Aksum.

5. Yes, Arabs inhabited Mogadishu even before the birth of the prophet Isa's mother, Maryam (peace be upon her). This is well documented in the Book of Sharif Aidarus. A second wave of Arab immigrants entered Mogadishu in the 7th century and brought Islam to the nomads who lived in the desert interior. Somalis became fully Islamicized sometime in the 15th century. Your people (Reer Jalaf) entered Mogadishu very recently and stole all the properties and farms from the indigenous population.

6. What benefit do I gain from cosplaying as a Habar gedir? I am not Reer Jalaf, but I am half Reer Hilolwe. Allah says to speak the truth, even if it's against your clan and community.

1. Your so shameless that it is not even funny, there are absolutely no source stating that yemeni built or inhabited in zeila. During the adal era there were barely any yemeni arab, the arabs that later came to join the war with Ethiopia was sent by the ottoman.

2. You said that arabs lived in merca with who source are you using exactly, there are literally 3 people from the 11th to 13th century that said that it was inhabited by hawiye none of them even mentioned about arabs but yet somehow your telling me that it was an arab city with no sources to prove. Look at the source below it says that it belongs to the belong to the 'black berbers' if you dont understand proper english it says that it belongs to us bot you guys

3. Al-maqrizi did not state that lol, did u get that shit from the wikipedia with no reference to prove that abysmal claim. You said the yusuf kawneyn is arab again with your stupid lies

Yusuf real name is barkhadle which is a somali name, are you telling me a man from arabia has a somali last name 🤦🏽‍♂️

4. If your claiming that harari made the majority of the fighters then you certainly need to be checked in the head. Somalis were mentioned the most in the futuh al habasha and their leader played crucial roles compared to harlas. Just look at the first battle and you will see just how many somalis there were and stop coping and pasting from Mohamed hassan

5. Then show me the sources that Yemeni controlled zeila 🤣

6. Lol am not reer jalaf I am cabdalle. You said that I came to Mogadishu and took peoples properties when literally cabdalle sacad is buried in Mogadishu, a man that lived over 500 years ago is somehow buried in Mogadishu. Omg how did that happen 🤯

1. You are now overcompensating for your lack of history and civilization on the Benadir coast and northern Somalia, including Zeila. You keep disregarding the numerous academic sources that I provide and selectively picking passages that suit your outrageous claims. I already proved that the word Zeila is of Arabic origin. You couldn't even tell me what Zeila means in the Somali language. I understand your limited mental and intellectual capacity can't comprehend complex academic literature.

The Mawyanni Arabs came through the port of Zayla in the 10th century. David Hamilton says in his book, "Imperialism, Ancient, and Modern: A Study of English Attitudes to the Claims to Sovereignty to the Northern Somali Coastline," that Arab immigrants from Yemen rebuilt and revived the city of Zeila. It is also stated that "Zeila and Sawakin represented the Arab state, the state of Himyar, and the wars between it and Aksum."

2. Arabs lived in Merca and the Benadir coast even before the birth of Prophet Isa's mother, Maryam (peace be upon her). The Arabs that ruled Merca and the Benadir coast are well known. The Fakhruddin Al Qassani dynasty, Hilwani dynasty, Zuuzaani dynasty, Muzaffar dynasty, Shiiraazi dynasty, and Gaameedle all ruled the Benadir coast, including Merca. The only mention of hawiye in Merca was in the 12th century. Hawiye settled in Merca around the 12th century and built hut settlements. Show me any evidence of hut settlements built by Hawiye prior to the 12th century. Mogadishu, Merca, Barawa, and Kismayo were all founded by Arabs. You only demonstrated one passage showing Hawiye's presence in Merca during the 13th century. You proved my point.

You are the same fool who previously claimed Somalis hired Arabs to build all the structures in Merca. There isn't a single historical structure or mosque built by Hawiye in Merca. You really think any person can take you seriously with that outrageous statement?

3. The Walashma rulers of Ifat were Arabs and other Ethio-Semitic-speaking groups. The original founders of Ifat claimed Arab ancestry. Arabs and other Semitic-speaking groups, like the Argobba, are regarded as the founders of the Ifat Sultanate. Al Maqrizi wrote that the inhabitants of Ifat spoke Arabic and Abyssinian. The first ruler of Ifat was Umar ibn Dunya-huz. He was an Arab from the Hejaz region. Did you even read the genealogy of the Ifat Sultanate?

One of the biggest sources of confusion regarding the Walashma identity is the association with Yusuf Barkhadle. The name is very similar; however, the lineage is Yusuf Barkanti, not Yusuf Barkhadle, who is an entirely different person who lived many centuries before Yusuf Barkhadle. Sada Mire says Sheikh Yusuf (Saint Aw-Barkhadle) came from Arabia to the area of Aw-Barkhadle about 850 years ago.

4. Once again, disregarding my sources Why did Arab Faqih state that Ethio-Semitic speakers formed the dominant section of the Adal population? He also makes it clear that the sedentary agriculturalist population of Harar provided both the leadership in the jihadic war and that they were the majority of the fighters, at least during the early days of the jihad. Somali fighters were rebuked for deserting the battle of Shimbure Kure.

5. I already proved Arabs rebuilt and revived the city of Zayla in the 10th century. Look at my previous paragraph above. Lewis states, "In the 13th century, Zeila was ruled by the Walashma dynasty, claiming Arab origins."

6. Oh, you are reer Cabdalle. That still doesn't change the fact that Sacad warlords displaced and killed the indigenous population in Mogadishu, Merca, and the rest of the Banadir coast. All the properties belonging to the indigenous Benadiri community were looted and stolen. My ayeeyo passed away in Merca Caday last year. Do you not know what Yusuf Indhacade, who hails from my qabil, did to the indigenous inhabitants of Merca? Allah says to be steadfast maintainers of justice, even if it's against your clan. You need to do the same.
