After 64 years of misery, more and more of us are realising we are in an unhappy and abusive marriage (Somalia). To top it off, it is also an infertile (madhalays) one with no tangible benefits for anyone; just misery and despair.

Most people have realised we are better off going our separate ways and ending this unhappy union. We’ve lived separately for centuries before the Europeans forced us into this arranged marriage, we can certainly survive without it, if not thrive.

Steps necessary to end this Somalia nightmare once and for all:

1. Trump and the West recognises Somaliland

2. That will trigger a constitutional crisis in Somalia. With HSM’s dictatorial tendencies and the failure of federalism due to the power hungry antics of Villa Somalia, the states led by Jubaland and Puntland will demand a confederacy ending Villa Somalia’s chokehold on the country. Aid, finance, monetary policy, education including exams and certification, healthcare, basically anything and everything will be devolved as Villa Somalia is an enemy of progress and will always be no matter who sits in its cursed rooms. Basically, strong semi-independent states and a ceremonial Villa Somalia. Banadir can become a state for all I care then and so can Hiiraan.

3. With direct access to aid and opportunities to seek investment with monetary and sound financial policies, the States will be free to actually develop. With access to the international arms markets, the states will be able to procure the arms necessary to defeat the terrorists and insurgents.

4. After a 20 year period of confederacy, the terrorists should be defeated and the States on the way to development. The States can then decide if they want to continue or declare full independence. I suspect Jubaland and Puntland will opt for independence at this point.


Point being, Somaliland and the constant crisis in the South has shown that 1960 Somalia is dead and never coming back. It’s time to accept reality and move on.

For us in Jubaland, Villa Somalia has been a perpetual enemy irrespective of whether a Darod or Hawiye sits there. Villa Somalia has attempted to militarily invade Jubaland 4 times in the last 11 years, it has withheld Jubaland’s access to its share of foreign aid for most of that time, and it has blockaded it from air and sea for almost 4 years.

This has meant we have not had a chance to focus on the hard task of liberating our land. We’ve been forced to guard the defences against a belligerent Villa Somalia instead of freeing our homeland. We’ve not had a chance to rest and breathe. In Jubaland we have two enemies: Villa Somalia and Al Shabab, and in that particular order.

For us, we welcome a weakened Villa Somalia. It has proven to be nothing but spiteful and treacherous. We want freedom and access to our fair share of aid. We want to be able to buy weapons independently. We want to be able to focus on defeating the terrorists without worrying about Villa Somalia stabbing us in the back.

We want a divorce.

Thank God Jubaland Darawish were able to get there in town and hold the defences. With an enemy like Villa Somalia doing this time and again, how on earth can we even think of defeating AS? Now you have a glimpse of the challenges Jubaland face. Don’t also forget Villa Somalia doesn’t even send us a single bullet.

We need to deal with the bigger enemy (Villa Somalia) first before we can deal with AS.

That's unfair assessment. JL is the strongest entity in the South, comparing it to GM.or HS or SW, makes u look like a joke. They have their own port, airport, and road. They have huge population in Kenya backing it also. I mean don't u see how Villa Somalia treats SW, GM, HS? their not in fear yet with JL, it's in absolute fear.

The feds actions since 2007 till now speaks.volumes and one of the big reasons noone wants Madoobe to leave, as ppl assume he has defeated them many times in Villa Somalia. As for.middle juba under shabab, u know territorially that's 9000 SQ Km, for God sakes that like 90 Mogadishu land size if u assume 100 SQ KM for Mogadishu area. It's not even really a state as 90% of districts in Somalia are even larger territory.

If we're gonna be honest with ourselves when we scream xabashi xabashi we should also be screaming kenyan. My man Madobe came to JL on a kenyan tank sxb. His whole adminstration is based on outside interference. Ditch that guy and build a somali owned admin with all stakeholders in JL. Then watch how easy AS is eradicated in the jubbas.
