I'm not fan of racial categories I see race as social construct mainly popular in the west particularly north America, to me African Americans are 1 ethnic group, Somalis being another separate ethnic group. Other than that I have nothing against African Americans.

No big deal. Many whites have played Native Americans in Western movies. Although there were Native American actors, the status quo portrayed them in negative light.

My concern is what her role partakes - negative or positive image of Somalis. Barkhad 'ilka weyn' playing pirate is not a positive image of Somalis. Knowing what sells in Hollywood, they'd probably accentuate the gender-based violence of Somali women in refugee camps. They need to balance that with Somali actors playing 'good cop' and fighting injustice and violence of women.
