Amharic or Swahili

I was just wondering since in the secondary education system of most countries they force students to learn the language of their neighbors. In Somalia I think it would be more useful to incentivize Amharic over Swahili.

Swahili is more spread in Eastern Africa though.

If I had to choose obviously Swahili makes sense, Amharic is useless unless you're a habesha beg wanting to colonized by them.

What's suugo science? I've thought it meant nonsense science until now.
It already is more spoken. That was 1994^ and only for first language speakers, in some places however that's not the pattern.

They don't include that unfortunately, but it should cover more area^ and the woredas already coloured would get a higher %.
They didn't include this actually in the 2007 census actually, but rather just done it by zone instead.

I don't mind folks learning Amharic as an optional language in the education system, however Somali should be the official language. I don't understand the urge some folks have to make any ajnabi lingo official, why not be content with Somali being the sole official language?

Then why not English? Almost every country learns it as a second language. Amharic is pretty useless outside of Ethiopia, and Swahili doesn't hold much economic clout, however I feel like it would be better to learn than Amharic due to the numerous countries that speak it as a lingua franca.
