When I was growing up during the height of blood and crips era, yes there were many Somali members in those gangs, highly notable too but gangs have died down within the last decade fortunately and people are about money now.
With that said, that article is extremely biased and politically motivated. Somali gangs in 2020 are not in the FBI radar because of a threats they pose, but the opportunity for the feds looking for promotions and grants. Trump used Somali card to scare his base for votes and now others are doing it.
The sex trafficking case was exposed as fabrication by the police officers, they used a mentally ill women and forced her to make up a story to justify the mass arrest. All have been released since but the case still used against us.
