They’re guaranteed a pension of $40K a month regardless.
I don’t think Somali presidents steal much, it’s too noticeable if they stole anything more than $5m.
I would believe if they used state funds to purchase favours or MPs or even assets like a retirement house but I don’t think Farmaajo, HSM or Sheikh Shariif stole millions in cash.

After Blinken spoke to DJibouti government, that is when he issued those remarks. They're virtually engineering a government that they and UAE chose for Somalia.
"Today, on the one-year anniversary of the expiration of the Somali president’s term in office, I am announcing the implementation of a policy under Section 212(a)(3)(C) of the Immigration and Nationality Act that restricts the issuance of visas to current or former Somali officials or other individuals who are believed to be responsible for, or complicit in, undermining the democratic process in Somalia, including through violence against protestors, unjust arrests or intimidation of journalists and opposition members, and manipulation of the electoral process. Immediate family members of such persons may also be subject to these restrictions."
The outrageous theme in that statement ignores the fact that a President can only be elected by a parliament with a full quorum; and without a new parliament selected, a new president can't be elected. I think this State Department wants to pull on President Farmaajo on what Jendayi Frazer pulled on President A. Yusuf (AHUN): It does seem to me they don't want him contest the election at all.
