Most haven't been back home to see real dark skin Somalis. Amal is just on the darker end of what we call maariin or mid tone.

There are lots of light and darkskin halimos that are physically attractive and alot that arent. Never really seen the obsession with lightskins though, sometimes they arent even cute yet people make them out to be beyonce. Personally, a long neck, mariin with bcups makes up 1/4th of my thoughts, any given hour.
