I'll start: If Germany won WW2, what would Europe and the world look like?

Hadn't Barre made the mistake to "piss off" and irritate the Russians (somebody tell me how), would we be living in a reality where Somaliweyn existed?

It makes you think, as the lost war against Ethiopia is the reason why Somalia crashed, ultimately leading up to the war and the huge refugee numbers that followed.

@Molotoff The Russians got butthurt because Barre didn’t want join their communist ( borg/cyber man) cult. Pretty much they thought Somalis would be their good little soldiers and playing nice with the other Africans for giving them weapons and supplies . They’re were like “ Grrrr, we’ll get those uppity noodle darkies. How dare they want their own property and identity and shit!!!! They racist!!”

True, he played his hand too quick, but communist are very hard to be around. The African commies were like this. I think anyone would go into murderous rage after dealing with that. Idk about today's communists but the Soviets weren't exactly for open borders (remember the Berlin Wall?).

Communists then were divided between Trotsky's idea of 'exporting the revolution' and open borders whereas Stalin (who beat him out for power) was a 'socialism in one state', 'we need borders to protect us from capitalist influence' kinda guy. That obviously set a precedent for future Premiers like Brezhnev who ordered the assault on Somalia.

Also, said assault was more "they're infighting with another communist nation and destabilising our sphere of influence" but at the end of the day, both regimes of the Derg and "Socialist" Somalia were opportunists LARPing as commies for some aid.

I always thought that. @Golden My boyfriend asked me one day why if Somalis act so conservative, then why are Somalis socialists . My guesses were we just opportunities for funds and probably the UN and African Union forces it. My dad would tell me that the only use for Democrats is the benefits, but all their beliefs are cancer.
