At least three Al-Shabaab leaders were killed in infighting among the militant extremists, according to state-owned media reports on Thursday. Additionally, ten other fighters have been detained by the group following heavy fighting in central Somalia between two opposing factions within the group.

The intense fighting broke out in the Bidde Isse area of the Elbur district in the Galgaduud region, resulting in casualties, including deaths and injuries.

State-owned media reported that the fight erupted after some Al-Shabaab leaders disagreed on how to handle injured fighters following intense clashes near the town of Gal'ad, also in the Galgaduud region.

The statement published in national media further noted, "The group also detained ten other militants in the Aws-Wayne village in the Eldher district, most of whom were elders working with the group."

This is not the first instance of infighting among Al-Shabaab forces. In the past, more than ten fighters were killed by Al-Shabaab forces in the Harardhere district.

HOL has independently confirmed the state media reports.

A bunch of Cayr generals lead the finances, intelligence etc. I assume they are loyal to him. He’s also just replaced the leader of the foreign division, locking up a bunch in Jilib and appointing his own guy from Sudan.

I don’t see much competition at this point unfortunately, unlikely to see any major infighting imo.

Sheikh Fuad Mohamed Khalaf “Shongole” is more of a spiritual leader, he speaks out against Alshabaab infighting, he also spoke out when Ahmed Abdi Godane attacked and captured Burhakaba after killing more than 50 people which previously been under the control of Hizbul Islam, a group led by Islamist hardliner Sheikh Hassan Dahir Aweys.

He is probably is in the Counsel of leaders or something

But from the way things are looking, Mahad Karate is calling the shots, He controls Aminat " al-shabaab intelligence wing" , Jilib, Resources, He never wanted to be leader because he wanted free movement, he wants to pop up at training camps, set up plans, and sniff out potential threats to either arrest them or kill them.

Mahad Karate is known to be in the Middle Jubbas, But because Alshabaab control so much areas that go into Jubbas, he could go into Bay or Bakool, and also Lower Shabelle.
