This is good but when young Somalis only ever see Somalis suffering and the difficult phase our nation is going through, it instills self hate.
Am planning on donating every year to charity to Somalia inshallahThis is good but when young Somalis only ever see Somalis suffering and the difficult phase our nation is going through, it instills self hate.
We need to help our weak without airing it to the world but show the positive sides and successful Somalis
Thats exactly to what Im referring to sxb. This only perpetuates the myth of Somalis being in need of charity and that we are beggers and a backward nation. The girl in the video is genuine, but Ali Dawah isn't. He's trying to leech off a video of Somali boys pranking their mom by decorating their living room for Christmas. A bunch of people were admiring how proud and religious the Somali mother was. Ali Dawah added a link of this video and another to donate money "to help our Somali mothers" - an obvious dig meant to remind people that Somalis are supposed to be the perennial charity case for the Muslim world

Yeah, i've never liked the dude. He'd publicly 'advise' different youtubers and people and air out their dirty laundry to even more viewers. Should be done in private if he really cared, at that point it just gets embarrassing to the other party. But then again, it's all about views and money now

The only way to beat this is to create and support our own TV shows, internet personalities, and Islamic scholars. Take the South Korean approach and go from being a cultural importer to a cultural exporter
