Al-shabab is going to arabize Somalia

Arab is not really a race though, just a language.
Arab isn't just a language. Arabs are two types, Ethnic Arabs and those Arabized. Ethnic Arabs are those from the Arabian peninsula and large parts of Syria and Iraq. The rest are either Arabized or Arab clans migrated there.

Arabs themselves cannot agree upon what their true ethnicity is. They class themselves into Arab (mustariba), Arab Qahtani and ancient perished Arabs.

Many actually believe the ancient perished Arabs are ancient Cushites or proto-Afro-Asiatics that spread the Arabic language into the middle east.

Arabs have inter arab qabil beef lol read this, and the Qahtan arabs are not perished, but merely their originals.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Qays–Yaman_rivalry

The Qays–Yaman rivalry refers to the historical rivalry and blood feud between the factions of the Qays (who were Adnanites or northern Arabians) and Yaman (who were Qahtanites or southern Arabians) in the Arab world. The conflict first emerged among the Arab tribes that constituted the Umayyad army and administration in the 7th and 8th centuries. Membership in either faction was rooted in the genealogical origins, real or perceived, of the Arab tribes, which divided them into south Arabian descendants of Qahtan (Yaman) or north Arabian descendants of Adnan (Qays). Yamani tribes, including the Kalb, Ghassan, Tanukh, Judham and Lakhm, were well-established in central and southern Syria in pre-Islamic times, while Qaysi (Nejdi-Hejazi) tribes, such as the Sulaym, Kilab and Uqayl, largely migrated to northern Syria and Upper Mesopotamia with the Muslim armies in the mid-7th century.

Qahtan Arabs are not considered the perished Arabs by the way.

Al-Arab al-Ba'ida (Arabic: العرب البائدة‎), "The Extinct Arabs", were an ancient group of tribes of prehistory that included the ‘Aad, the Thamud, the Tasm, the Jadis, the Imlaq (who included branches of Banu al-Samayda), and others. The Jadis and the Tasm are said to have been exterminated by genocide.[citation needed] The Qur'an records that disappearance of the 'Aad and Thamud came of their decadence. Recent archaeological excavations have uncovered inscriptions which reference 'Iram, once a major city of the 'Aad.

Do arabs sit around and study somalis, lol what do you gain from studying arabs lol.

They have tribes like us that fight all the time, Im not sure how this information is helping us.

Before the conquests, Arab was an Ethnicity in Arabia, Parts of Syria and Iraq. After the conquests and the influence of the Arabic language, The Arab identity stretched all the way from Yemen to Morocco.

Qahtan and Adnan are just Arab clans just like Darood and Isaaq are Somali clans.

If you want to know who are ethnic Arabs, there those from Arabia and parts of Iraq and Syria. Arabia, parts of Syria and Iraq are the true Arabs! The others like Libya and Algeria are simply Arabized and not ethnically Arabs. It's like the English ethnicity and those who speak English. Jamaicans and Caribbean's speak English but that doesn't make them ethnically English just like Libyans an Algerians speak Arabic but that doesn't make them ethnically Arab.

Not sure if your trolling or not, but hey ill bite.

Just pointing out a fact, that Arabs are a group of people who speak a language and not really a solid ethnic group per say.

Found it interesting how Kush is always interlinked with Arabia in ancient texts. Arabic is also an Afro-Asiatic language like Somali, so just pointing out that in terms of languages it is not the farthest removed.

We are after all conversing in English right now, an Indo-European Germanic language, and you probably studied English history in school.

So what does anyone gain from any knowledge?

When do we share any information or knowledge if not on a relevant thread?

Bro, I disagree. I mentioned how there are Arabized Arabs and Ethnic Arabs Just like there are Ethnic English and those who speak English. Arab is an Ethnicity and those Arabized are not ethnically Arabs but simply Arabized. It's like a Madow Somali and an Ethnic Somali.

Yes I know exactly what you mean.

I am not saying that there are no solid ethnic groups within the Arab umbrella. It is just that even they have a more ancient group they acknowledge as the ancient or extinct Arabs.

Anthropology does tell us language shifts, genetic drift, bottlenecks, and migrations happen. So who knows what the truth is.

Some believe haplogroup E1b1b spread all Afro-Asiatic languages. Maybe some of those E1b1b north Africans, and even us with Natufian like ancestry have just as much claim to Arabic as J1 haplogroup Arabs who claim Qahtan.

I understand your point but It could be that the Ethnic Arabs have a different paternal lineage to the Ancient Arabs but they share the same Ethnicity. Just like Darood and Hawiye traditionally have a different paternal lineage but obviously they share the same ethnicity and culture. Also were told in Islam how Allah dealt with Aad and Thamud.

The reason why this topic of difference between Ethnic Arabs and those Arabized isn't a topic in the Arab world because they look the same or similar so they don't really find it a big deal. Berbers, Assyrians (Arabized Arabs) and others look similar to the real Arabs so the real Arabs (Arabia, Parts of Syria and Iraq) never really cared. It's just like how an Afar or an Oromo looks similar to Somalis so they can easily pass as one although we don't share a culture/language with them (Oromos and Afars).

The northern speakers of Afro-Asiatic languages (Northern north Africa and Northern middle east) seem to have a lot of Eurasian influences in terms of phenotype, whereas the southern half have more Sub-Saharan influence (southern portion of north Africa, Horn of Africa and southern Arabia).

To me they are like a mirror image of each other. We even have Sudanese Arabs who are overwhelmingly haplogroup J, and then there are those that are haplogroup E1b1b like many of the Beja, Tuareg (darker Berbers) and some would argue Somalis.

It is like each group have light skinned and dark skinned versions of each other. Even the peninsular Arabs have groups like the Mahra, Harasis and others who are generally very dark (sub-Saharan dark) but phenotype wise identical to other peninsular Arabs.

So to me it is quite funny that when two examples of a thing exist, the more European example is always considered to have greater authenticity.

All of this even while we know that the Afro-Asiatic language group has most of its branches and diversity still within Africa.
