They won't bother to check if you can't identify yourself and will send you on your way in sensitive areas.
One upside of this unfortunate event is that it proves the recent vehicle tracking initiative is working, as the attackers couldn't use their preferred method of VBIED delivery, civilian cars, to carry out this attack. From now on, they'll have to include their own vehicles in the tracking initiative to prevent imitation.
Good work! A lot of people on this site think Xamar is like pre 2017. Mashallah especially since time of Farmaajo and HSM, Xamars security has improved a lot. We love to always point out the faults and never talk about the progress. The city is booming! Have you seen Soobe? Laami yaraha soobe? You would think you were teleported to Dubai. Same goes for Buulo Xuubey, Jidka Sodonka, Medina. Bash bash iyo barwaaqo waayey.
I can leave number afar Hodan area at 2am and go to waxarcade/gubadley at night. I can ride a motorbike from Garasbaaley and go to Xamar Weyne at midnight with no worries except for tuug saqajaan kkk.
I remember pre 2018 qaraxs were nonstop. I used to stay away from makkah al mukaramma area and any hotels or areas with government buildings. Alxamdullilah the security has improved, and you can see it with the rarity of attacks inside Mogadishu, due in part to the use of CCTV and checkpoints throughout the city.
Plus now with the National ID card you can’t buy a simcard or open a bank account or send money without an ID being linked to your account as proof of identity. The only thing left for the gov inside Xamar is to take over the telecommunications, and clean in house agents by doing serious vetting/background checks, then the security would be on lock.
