The most restrictive policy they ever enacted was banning school children from watching moves late at night at the request of concerned parents so unless you think sharia law in general is Taliban like, there was nothint oppressive about the ICU. All the extremist allegations on them had no evidence behind it and was peddled by Americans who were still in a post 9/11 hysteria and believed any Islamist state was Al-Qaeda affliated.

And they weren't even the only groups to be accused of being terrorists/extremists. Al-Itihaad and the Al-Barakat company were also accused of being terrorists (again, no evidence). Even Abdullahi Yusuf accused the legitimately elected Jama Ali Jama as being affliated with Al-Qaeda and disposed him with Ethiopian troops. Can you give me evidence for any of this? There was literally no terrorists attacks from any sharia court nor during the ICU's tenure.
