"Some Somalis have a weird tendency online to publicize each and every one of our ‘Ls’ for the whole world to see. They don’t realize that they are ruining the Somali image by doing so. There could be a fight at a wedding in Minnesota and next thing you know there’s multiple posts on TikTok about the incident with each gaining significant traction with thousands if not hundreds of thousands of likes.
A lot of online Somalis who post these things don’t realize that they’re being laughed at by outsiders and not laughed with. Insulting and shaming your own by posting your ceeb for the whole world to see is not an expression of confidence but one of insecurity. It’s pathetic.
Now take a look at this Eritrean chimp out in Toronto yesterday. Pro-government vs anti-government diaspora clashed at a festival. Eight injured and one critically injured. Not a single video about it on any social media platform. Had it been Somalis it would have gotten way more traction. This is the benefit of hiding your ceeb and not flaunting it for the whole world to see. "
