speeches.

Have you noticed ?

He’ll be addressing a Somali audience and the guy can’t go few sentences without using a butchered English sentence. He does to give himself a legitimacy.

The guy was a professor at a small school where they absolutely hated him. They complained about his accent.
Remember that website RATE MY PROFESSOR. I checked him out. He had a very low rating.

Dude legit thinks he's the only Somali who carries a PhD. Education makes some people snobby and arrogant.

Not only him. Every Somali "intellectual" does this, to confirm their intellect. This is Somali culture in general for me. You'll see the average illetrate Fob, who tells you his phone number in his broken English.

Bro have you noticed.

Every time he is talking to Maskiin Hargeisa semi-educated Uni students he goes on this unnecessary reference of a English saying where he completely butchers it.

This is indeed a poison.

It’s called ‘islaweyni’ syndrome. Most Somalis suffer from it.
Exactly

Him and Galayr held a townhall meeting in Hargeisa. To be honest Galayr spoke strictly Somali and I’d say beautifully ( he sucks as a politician). This Ahmed guy was a complete diarrhea. It was like an emperor addressing his subject. Constantly speaking English

His spoken and written English is actually extraordinary---high even by the standards of a U.S professor. He is also very popular at his college and has served as a dean.

But yes, I have noticed his weird tendency to interject English words into Somali speech even when there is a perfectly suitable Somali word.

His issue is not lack of speaking ability, but a heightened level of arrogance and a show-off tendency.

Have you ever bother visiting RATE MY PROFESSOR website to substantiate this spectacular professor you speak off

Yes I did, and it only confirmed what I told you.

Samatar is a phenomenal educator. My mind was blown after just about every lecture. If you like to slack off, do not take his class. One downside- he always is talking about his accomplishments. But then again, a man with his knowledge deserves to rub it in a little bit.

Dude! You’re cherry picking! You chose the one nerd who said something positive.

“He is not that approachable outside of office hours, and assigns relatively short books that are very dense reads. He's an average professor, nothing to special, but due to the lecture based focus and unapproachability with office hours I would not take again. Especially for first years

now tell me that ain’t the case

I generally hate people who put English words in their speach, they think it would make them sound smart when it does the opposite and shows their lack of voclaubalry.:farmajoyaab:

The worst was the previous PL presidential candidate Dr. Ali Isse. They were suppose to hold 10 minute speeches. He said if I go through my cv, 10 minutes won't be enough. :farmajoyaab:

Recently I tried to interpret for a doctor and I thought my Somali was good however, I discovered that it was below average. My point is, we all need to get better specially people like the professor who have been in the west decades long before the arrivals of mst Somalis. :)
