You guys obviously don’t know history, I live in probably in one of the most well off countries on earth ( Finland ) and this country spend 700 years in gumeysi until they got independence. Africa is going through a bad patch at the moment but the continent has improved a lot.

Compare the continent where it was 30 years ago and it has moved forward. In another 30 years time Africa will move forward.

that's what I was talking about with the cannibalism thing- theoretically, ten years from liberals would have moved on normalizing cannibalism and some "conservative" "far-right" figure would be called "based and red-pilled" for mildly disagreeing with cannibalism.

at one time, the conservatives would have rightly taken a bold stand against democracy. then last year I saw an interview with a priest in Peru talking about how Catholics should vote in the country's elections. I think that church used to be straight-up anti-democracy.

Colonialism is one of the reasons why Africa is poor while obviously not the only reason. Colonialism in Africa has been more exploitative than in other parts of the world. JP can't even point the countries he mentioned on a map ( he mispronounced Somalia lol) he doesn't really have any authority to speek on economics. African countries like Burkina Faso and Congo had their leaders litteraly murdered by Europeans and Americans because they showed progress.

The most common Somali name after Mohamed is Abdi (simply "slave"). I wonder if you go after the hundreds of thousands of Somalis named "Abdi" as well for disrespecting Allah. Or the Somalis who are named Rashid. There's many Somalis with that name.

The white man divvied up the continent for themselves and for the next 100 years exploited, raped, genocided, and robbed the people for trillions. Then when they were done they took out a pencil and just started drawing random lines across a map creating artificial nations that did not take into account the numerous ethnic and language groups. What they left behind was an unstable situation that created ethnic tension and instability. They didn't build any lasting institutions they left behind utter chaos. I would say that the legacy of colonialism is what enabled corruption which in turn is responsible for the famine and wars all across the continent. My personal opinion is that some of it has to do with Africans lack of accountability and no optimism they have for their country that creates a cutthroat dog eat dog society that rewards stealing. It's like how some Somalis can't see anything better for the country than it being a shithole so instead of working together they say let it be my shithole rather than his shithole.
