FRUD MILITARY COMMAND

On the night of February 22-23, 2024, important clashes took place in the vicinity and at the military camp of Dawdawya (Dikhil region) between FRUD fighters and the Djiboutian army. Numerous soldiers fled, FRUD took control of the military camp for a few hours and seized the entire stockpile of weapons. A truck carrying military reinforcements, from Dikhil, fell in ambush.

Results: Several dead and injured among the army, no loss on FRUD's side.

This allegedly happened after the Afar president of the national assembly (Dileita Mohamed Dileita) visited Tadjoura region which is north of Dikhil.

4 soldiers have been killed and 34 have been captured.
