I thought i'd share with you what the name abwaan mean or signify in somali culture. Nowadays the title abwaan have been watered down and everyone and their geel seems to be calling themselves an abwaan. In truth abwaan is not an easy title to get. Abwaan was a very knowledgeable person yet very stingy that they would rarely share any knowledge with anyone. You could say he was a sage or a polymath in history culture and wisdom. An abwaan was the bank or treasury of somali culture. You might even recognize abwaan from the famous somali story "hal an ku siyo hal i dheh". The story about the giant riddler snake in the well.
