A very scary development. The West has been copying communist China for decades. The only difference is that China is more open and clear with their agenda. The Chinese goverment wants to have a total surveillance on every singel citizen that exist in China.
The thing with the social credit system is, that it is not only limited to the goverment, many private actors are taking part of it. If you get in bad terms with the higher ups, or if you get "black listed" you are doomed forever, do google journlist Liu Hu, he got arrested and the government imposed a nationwide restrictions on him, which mean he can't buy property, airline and train tickets etc.

This system is not only about the income, even when it comes to dating you will suffer. And as a woman if you use contraception or not, it will have an affect on your social credit.

Also the Social Credit system already exist in many countries in the West, the so called "geo-scoring" is already measuring a person's credit worthiness. The postcode determines the creditworthiness of yours, yes your neighbors are having an effect on how you can shape your life not directly but they are still affecting it.
Even when it comes to health insurance, it will affect your overall insurance premiums and how much a hospital stay will cost you. I think in Germany insurance companies offer decreased insurance premiums if you don't fall sick that often(?)

The only good thing about the Chinese Social Credit system that we should adapt is the fact that if you buy a lot of say for instance video games, and it is assumed you spend many hours of your day behind the screen, it will decrease your social creditwortiness. And that person will be seen as a lazy and unambitious person not worth investing in, or hiring as employee Lol I bet many on this site would get a pretty bad social credit
