As someone who has practically lived back home and visited many cities.

The main problem back home is that people don't know how to mass produce food. Home cooked food in Somalia is amazing but it is definitely not uncommon to have horrible restaurant food.

Imo Garowe and Bosasso had good restaurant food at some of their hotels. Bosaso has this restaurant which is in the suburbs run by a diaspora lady that had good food. Idk the name but maybe @Boqorada knows.

Walahi those hotel/restaurants you mentioned that are owned by Somalis in Hargeisa are unbelievable overpriced and are mediocre.

These Yemenis own the hole in the wall type of restaurants produce delicious hot food with like 10% of what the qashin places like Mansoor serve

They have a special kind of oven underground and unique techniques in preparing food. Their food is very delicious with many different cuisines and spices.


I personally love Mandi chicken dish.

Most Yemenis particular in southern Yemen have nothing but love for Somalis. A lot of diaspora migrated from Yemen and even out of the country Somalis & Yemenis hang together in the Qurba.

Yes its true. Its really bad. They just boil the meat thats there style. They think its the best. Thats in Somaliland ...i heard xamar is much better and in general southerns are better at cooks.
