A tick bite can make you allergic to meat. Are you still Somali without hilib?

Pretty old news (2014) but I just found out about it. The lone star tick can reprogram your immune system when it bites you, rendering you unable to eat red meat anymore. They're still researching other ticks bc there have been other causes of meat allergies in different countries.

Would you abstain from meat or be found dead with burgers in both hands?

They also cause Lyme disease, allergies, and even bloodborne or bacterial infections. They're known to be transmitted by deer where I am; the people hunting down a deer and suddenly a tick has bitten into them. That's why you're supposed to do a full body survey, and also you have to fluff out camping gear in case there's a brown recluse that's found a dry, cool dark home in your gear. So much to worry about..

Lyme disease is scarier than the meat allergy X1000. It's fucking hellish
